Our
actions
BIOQuébec draws its strength from the active commitment of its members and its ability to unite, mobilize and energize the life sciences industry. As the industry's representative voice, we create links, foster synergies and support the development of strategic collaborations. BIOQuébec represents, connects and acts as an essential bridge between companies, researchers, institutions and decision-makers, in order to accelerate innovation and strengthen Quebec's positioning as a center of excellence in the life sciences.
BIOQuébec's independence, financed entirely by its members, enables us to have a clear mandate and to effectively defend the interests of our companies with political representatives. We regularly make specific, constructive recommendations aimed at creating an environment conducive to innovation. This active representation is essential to ensure that our members' concerns are heard and taken into account in the political decisions that affect our industry.
BIOQuébec actively participates in a number of initiatives to represent the voice of its members. We are involved in working groups within Chambers of Commerce and collaborate with key players in the local and Canadian ecosystem. BIOQuébec also organizes and participates in panels to play a concrete role in the advancement of our sector. We firmly believe that exchanging knowledge, discussing issues and speaking with one voice are essential to the growth of our industry.
BIOQuébec establishes strategic partnerships with sister associations to create concrete opportunities for its members. These collaborations enable us to organize trade missions, offer privileged access to leading events, and foster rich and stimulating forums for exchange. By working together, we stimulate innovation in the life sciences sector, paving the way for the growth of our companies through new business opportunities and the development of collaborative projects. BIOQuébec actively collaborates with:
BIOFlorida, BioNJ, Maryland Tech Council and MassBio
Our
Priorities
We are committed to strengthening Quebec as an environment conducive to the development, growth and attraction of life sciences companies. As a leader in innovation, investing in our sector is crucial to sustaining our industry. BIOQuébec is actively lobbying to renew and improve the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy, and to optimize the impact of investments in support of the industry. We closely monitor the initiatives, programs and efforts deployed by support organizations at every stage of company development, with an emphasis on seed and Series A financing.
Our aim is to provide Quebecers with the latest medical advances in science and research, and to capitalize on optimal access to healthcare data. Our companies provide clinical benefits that improve patients' quality of life. It is essential that the Quebec healthcare system integrates these medical advances.
Our aim is to maximize the economic spin-offs generated by our sector. With over 38,589 direct jobs and more than $6.5 billion contributing to Quebec's GDP, our potential contribution is immense. We're strengthening the competitiveness of our exporters of goods and services, and attracting more preclinical and clinical research and capital for our developing companies.
