The Government of Quebec has become the first Canadian province to list ANDEMBRY® (garadacimab) on the drug formulary of its public drug insurance plan. Developed by CSL, this treatment offers a new preventive option for people living with hereditary angioedema.
This listing represents a step forward in access to innovative therapies in Canada and could inspire other provinces, particularly in the area of rare diseases, where therapeutic needs remain significant and often unmet.
Quebec has also contributed to the clinical development of the treatment. Dr. Hugo Chapdelaine (University of Montreal, IRCM) participated in the international VANGUARD-OLE study by recruiting two patients from Quebec.
BIOQuébec would like to extend its warmest congratulations to CSL on this significant milestone, as well as to all the partners involved—patients, clinicians, researchers, patient organizations, and health authorities—who have helped make this innovation accessible..
