Life Science Nation and RESI, in collaboration with BIOQuébec, invite you to participate in an event on global funding strategies and investor engagement. The event will take place prior to BIOQuébec’s AGM at Auberge St-Gabriel in Montreal.

Designed for early-stage life sciences startups, this workshop offers practical advice on raising capital—from seed funding through Series B—in today’s global market.

Learn how to position your science and milestones, meet investor expectations, and develop a compelling, data-driven presentation.

The session also offers advice on maximizing your outreach efforts and partnership opportunities through RESI, and concludes with a one-hour investor panel providing insights from investors in the early-stage phase.

Cole Van Vuren

Business Development Manager, U.S. Midwest & Canada, Life Science Nation

At Life Science Nation (LSN), Cole serves as the Business Development Manager which directly oversees the U.S. Midwest & Canada region, where he is based. He is responsible for assisting early-stage companies across the life sciences — including therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, and digital health — in expanding beyond their local regions and connecting with global investors through participation in LSN’s Redefining Early Stage Investments (RESI) conference and the use of LSN’s curated Investor Platform. Cole holds three undergraduate degrees in Business Management, Marketing, & Professional Sales with a Minor focus in Biology.

Karen Deyo

VP of Product, Israel BD, Life Science Nation

Karen Deyo is the VP of Product at Life Science Nation, responsible for new product development and LSN’s educational content. In addition to her role as VP of Product, she is actively involved in Israel BD, utilizing her professional and personal connections to connect LSN to the Israeli life sciences startup community. She started out at LSN as part of the investor research team, speaking to investors and learning their investment mandates. Karen utilizes her experience speaking with investors as well as her scientific background to help startups translate their science and prepare for their global partnering campaigns. Karen has a Masters of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering as well as a Certificate in Graduate Business Study from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a concentration in Bioengineering from Olin College of Engineering.

Max Braht

VP of Business Development, U.S. East Coast, Life Science Nation

At Life Science Nation (LSN), Max serves as Vice President of Business Development and directly oversees the U.S. East Coast region, where he is based. He is responsible for assisting early-stage companies across the life sciences — including therapeutics, devices, diagnostics, and digital health — in expanding beyond their local regions and connecting with global investors through participation in LSN’s Redefining Early Stage Investments (RESI) conference and the use of LSN’s curated Investor Platform. Max holds an MBA from Oklahoma State University, as well as an MiM and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence & Digital Technology Management from the Burgundy School of Business in Lyon, France.
