BIOQuébec is proud to present the first version of a graph illustrating the connections between the academic research community, Quebec biotech companies and global pharmaceutical firms. Produced in collaboration with Novateur Ventures Inc. this tool offers a glimpse of the collaborative dynamics that drive our ecosystem.
Mapping innovation links
The graph highlights the 3 main connection types:
- University spin-offs
- Partnerships and collaborations between biotech and global pharmaceutical companies
- Mergers and acquisitions (M&A)
- Companies raising more than $2m after start-up, with no known public partnership (shown without connecting line)
Links with the academic research community are shown only when a spin-off has been identified. Please note: all connections shown come exclusively from public data.
Inactive companies are excluded from the chart, except when they have been acquired by an international pharmaceutical company - an indicator of high-impact trajectories.
An evolving base - your contribution is welcome
This visual offers an evolving overview and will be enhanced over time, thanks to contributions from the community.
🔎 Do you know of a relevant public connection that isn't yet listed?
