Bioeureka: an AI from Quebec to detect pathogens

The Montreal-based start-up, founded in 2022, has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) that identifies bacterial pathogens from images taken with a microscope simply connected to a computer.

«It saves time and money, explains start-up co-founder Mohamed M Diallo. With AI, we increase accuracy and reduce the error rate. And you don't need a specialist to use the software.»

He estimates that his subscription-based AI cuts analysis costs in half, as well as food losses, because the quantities contaminated are smaller and can be delivered more quickly with tests in hand.
