Who are we ?
BIOQuébec is a non-profit association, entirely financed by its members. Today, it represents more than 270 organizations active in Quebec's life sciences and health technologies industry. Our members are involved at every stage of the healthcare innovation chain, making a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of citizens. Their activities include drug, vaccine and diagnostic tool discovery, development, manufacturing and marketing. BIOQuébec is the voice of the industry, promotes networking and economic development, and acts as a link between the private sector and stakeholders.

History
BIOQuébec was founded in 1991 and has experienced three decades of remarkable transformation and growth.
From its initial goal of meeting the needs of the biotech industry, it has built a solid network of organizations and individuals committed to developing the life sciences sector in Quebec. Its initiatives, including the Genesis Galas and BioMédex Conferences, have strengthened its influence. Despite the challenges posed by the 2008 economic crisis, BIOQuébec was able to forge ahead and maintain its credibility with partners and governments.
In 2021, it celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking a period of concrete achievements and sustained growth.Recent years have consolidated BIOQuébec’s position as a key player in the life sciences. Its role was particularly crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which it organized numerous virtual conferences and facilitated networking despite the challenges.
BIOQuébec has always worked to promote and defend the interests of Quebec life science companies, securing benefits and writing briefs on crucial issues. Its leadership influence and collaborative nature enable it to look into the future with confidence, pursuing its mission to make Quebec a key player in the biotech industry on an international scale.

BIOQuébec focuses on companies and organizations active in the fields of therapeutics (including vaccines), diagnostics and health technologies, for human or animal use. Its members develop, manufacture and market biopharmaceutical products and medical technologies, offer biotechnology and health technology services, support the life sciences industry or act as strategic partners in the sector.
